Recently, I got a comment asking “What are we doing to help the pandas from becoming extinct?” This put off a light bulb in my head!

As you probably know pandas are the official logo of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).  The reason is probably that pandas are the heart of conservation worldwide. WWF helps endangered species by getting people to sponsor them. I think this is a great cause that helps all endangered animals-large and small. Also they breed them in captivity, so they can release them into the wild or keep them in a zoo. When you go to the zoo you also have a chance to sponsor an animal (like you sponsor a child in countries ravaged by poverty) by giving money toward that animal. I hope I have answered your question Maddie.

This is my 1st proper post so I thought it should be about what pandas eat. Did you know pandas don’t only eat bamboo like a lot people think. They also occasionally eat mice, fish, irises and crocuses. Did you know Giant pandas eat around 12 kilograms of bamboo a day? Pandas eat  approximately 12 hours a day so that is about 1 kilogram an hour! The reason pandas are becoming extinct is their homes are getting chopped down so they have nothing to eat.
